How do you know if my fan is sufficient enough to overclock my P4 1.7 ?
I have a dell dimension 4300 series. I don't know what kind of fan it has. It seems like a generic brand.

Most stock fans are sufficient as long as you aren't trying to really crank it up...if only mild overclocking, it should be fine. Case cooling is the important thing. If the inside of your case is too hot, the CPU fan can't do it's job. You should have a minimum of two case fans...one in the front bringing in fresh air, & one in the back exhausting the warm air.
