Currently have my fsb set on 133 and the multiplier for this is 12.5(dont think i can change it)

I have an asrock k8s7x (somethin like that)

anyways if i manually raise my fsb to just 134 (increase of about 20mhz). my system will crash as soon as it does anythin eg. run adaware/ internet!!

i have 4 case fans and a heatsink suitible for a 3200+

what am i doin wrong, and what can i do with this processor?

Well, that's a good question. Does it do the same thing at 135 or 136Mhz? Some motherboards in the past have had issues with certain frequencies at, or close to, default mhz.

What are your system and cpu temps? Likely has nothing to do with the problem, but since someone will ask, it's best to get it out of the way now.

If it's any consolation, I just backed off my maximum ever stable overclock of 144 X 15 to the default of 133 X 15 and the resulting ability to undervolt to 1.550 v. from and overvolt of 1.750 v., shaved about 11°C off my cpu temps. My overclock gain showed only in some benchmarks and not at all in others. Example...my overclocked video card is running at faster frames per second now and is much more stable.

Quite frankly, you can experiment some but, default settings are likely your best bet.

As I've mentioned in some of my other responses lately, I still havent found anything my 2400+ will do (overclocked or not) that my Duron 1300 wouldn't do (overclopcked or not).

you need a lil work for that...if you see on the CPU's L2 cache there are 2 small pins that need to be soldered ( if you got one ) so that they will be connected.

Barton has 512K L2 Cache
Thorton has 256K L2 Cache

IF...Im not mistaken :)...
