Hey, i've got a barton 2500+ with a 256 stick of ncp pc2700 and a 256 of crucial pc 2700, the motherboard is an asus A7N8X-E Deluxe, the video card is a gigabyte GV-N52128T-P Nvidia fx-5200 chipset with 128 ddr ram. What is the best setting to overclock this machine? i've got it to 2800 but tha was just changing the multiplier. Thnx, Matt

if....you can drop the multiplier, drop it to 10 and raise the fsb to 220 and see how it acts. the ram may not handle it but it's worth a try.

Don't jump to 220 FSB...do it in increments...3-5 mhz at a time, rebooting & taking it for a test run in between changes...keep an eye on your temps

you can get the fsb up to 200x11 without increasing any voltage settings, which is what mine is at right now.

thanks! i have it set at 200*11 i had to up the voltage one step for it to run stable. i benchmarked it with 3dmark03 and scored 886 up from my 700 something when it was all set to auto in the bios. now i've got to get 400mhz ram. Also, I use the nvidia system utility and it all runs under the redline and when idle it runs at 49 and when watching a movie or after playing a game it only goes up to 51. My system temp is 31 when idle and only goes to 32 when playing game or watching a dvd. are those good tempratures? i have 5 case fans 3 blowing in at the back and two blowing out the front, i find it's quieter that way.
Summary: Barton 2500's are locked. You need to find out how to unlock your cpu befor you can really have a go at Oc'ing that baby. I've heard that barton 2500's OC really well.(once their unlocked). Go to the f...
Summary: I have a 2500+ @ 11x182. The core reads (MBM5) 50 C idle and about 55 C load. The socket reading is roughly 10 C below that in both cases. I haven't had any problems. But what I am having trouble with...
Summary: Newer is almost always better. Not only will my Barton 2500+ run at speeds way in excess of the 3200+ stock speeds, the extra cache IS a lot faster in many apps. Gotta use an nForce2 Ultra 400 based ...
