Hii, i just build a new computer, and when when i first turn it on, trie to boot up, the monitor seems to be in stand by mode(yellow solid led) and the speaker gives a high pitch..i checked BIOS beep code and it tells me that CPU is overheating/running in different frequency or something.. could this be a memory speed problem?? both the motherboard and the CPU is capable of running at 800FSB.. would changing to higher memory helps?? thanks in advance..
crucial 256MB DDR 3300
ASUS PX4-*** with 800FSB
P4 2.8E with 800FSB

I doubt your computer will not start up because of overheating. Something is not seated properly or something in the BIOS is not configured properly.
If you have one of these boards in which you have to set jumpers or the multiplier manually make sure all of your configurations are correct. If your setting the CPU speed manually, try doing it Automatically and see what you get. Also make sure your heatsink is properly in place on the CPU you. If it's loose then your CPU will heat up like a frying pan. Make sure it's strapped to the sides of the CPU and not moving. If it moves when you touch it that's not good.
Here are some other things off the top of my head:
Make sure you Video Card is seated properly. I can't tell you how many times my damn computer wouldn't start because the card was out a little.
Make sure you CPU is seated correctly. If it's Socket A then you should have done that without a problem.
Make sure the FAN is running. My computer won't even start if the FAN on the CPU is not running.
Make sure you have the switch on the Power supply is set so you only see 115 and not 230.
That's all I have right now. Let me know what you get after you check all of these items.
TECHZAPORT OUT!!!

Never heard of Asus PX4 board for Intel 800mhz. Is the board certified/rated to run Prescott Processor?
Then, your DDR 3300; what is it?

hi, sorry bout the mixed up info.. but its
ASUS P4E-X motherboard with max 800FSB and
256MB DDR 333i've tried to implement every suggestion that techzaport suggested.. the CPU fan is running, the computer fan is running, i made sure that the video card and memrory is seated properly, i resetted the BIOS by pulling the pin out and in again, but when i trie to turn it on, it gives me
Repeating High/Low beeps... is this mean that the CPU is damaged? or is the fan problem. i mean i tried to switch the fan position back and forth but still the same outcomess...helpppppp...

ok I think your BIOS does not detect your CPU fan running, EIther that or you just smoked your CPU. Wait
I have another idea!
Get your motherboard manual out, and flip it to the page about the 'BIOS' resetting. Just switch the jumper, and back while ur computer is off, and turn it back on. IT should work.Athlon XP 2000+
256mb DDRx2 (2100/2700)
80GB western digital
geforce4 Ti4200 w/64mb
audigy LS
clear window/blue cathode
pretty darn quiet PC!
