Northbridge too hot?

Hi guys! I have been trying to O/C my Athlon XP, and have been testing for stability using Prime95 and performance increase using Sandra 2004. I was attempting to raise the FSB when I noticed that Sandra was generating an error message saying that the NorthBridge was too hot and that I should power down imediatly. I think the Northbridge was about 53 degrees C. This does sound quite hot and my PC would cause errors in prime95's torture test after a little over an hour. At first I assumed this was becuase of the O/C but when I then tested at the stock 166mhz fsb I still got the warning in Sandra, I am still investigating if it causes Prime to produce errors at stock frequencies. all the documentation I have seen about my motherboard suggests there should be a heatsink and fan on the northbridge but I only have a passive heatsink. could this be the cause of my woe? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Right. I have clocked the FSB back to stock speeds & I still get the warning in Sandra. I have run Prime95 for over 1 1/2 hours and have not got any errors. So my guess is that either Sandra is getting the signals for my temperature diode wrong, or it is damaged. As for the errors I guess some uprated cooling kit would solve that, any ideas what to get? Are there any Northbridge cooling upgrade kits, as I am still a little worried about that, or do i just stick a fn on it? I was also thinking - how does this plan sound : 1) remove the 60mm fan from my heatsink & replace it with an 80mm one 2) then put the 60mm fan on the northbridge ? Thanks for your advice!
