I have been using the program CPUFSb to overclock my ocmuter. I took it apart a while ago, and found out I had a ICS pll instead of the Realtek pll i thought i had. Anyway, so I was looking for jumpers. I got my computer back together and openned CPUFSB. ok, since i first used the program and gota successful overclock, i thought my pll was a realtek, and the farthest i had set it was to 1319mHZ. I started trying the ICS pll's and I seen theres a lot. I tried to open back my case, the numbers are HArd to read. SO, anyway, i used CPUfsb, and I can overclock, my computer to 1429mHZ. but, i get NO sound once this gets set. sometimes it crackles a little, but then it usually goes away completely. I want to know, is this like a regular problem. Anyone know whats going on? Ive been trying different settings, and Im going to try to take mycopmuter completely apart today, and get the exact numbers off my pll to do this with. Im pretty sure im using the wrong pll with the cpufsb program because at the speed im setting it at, its supposed to go to 1600mhz.
Any tips on overclocking like where are voltage jumpers, i got a bad bios. Heres my computer specs:

BTW its 12x multiplier and 100mhz fsb.

well, you probably have integrated sound card and that's the problem.
if so, try buying some cheap PCI sound card and it will work.
About FSB clock displayed, it's maximum value of integer numbers that can be processed in one word (2^31-1 in 4 bytes) so it must be some error in reading/writing that info in your bios.
don't know :)

my motherboard is an asus tuw-la. its a generic, my computer is a hewlett packard. I think my pll is an ICS 9248BF-122 the last 3 numbers im unsure of because the writing is very small, and cant hardly make out those numbers. they look a little fuzzy too. I am hounding the hp people right now for my pll. i think they suggested overclocking, but will not give me any information which leaves me, to like i dont know how to get it. the last 3 numbers look fuzzy. i have tried the cpufsb some more, and i about got it with the right pll. I have sound now, its all crackling, but it stays on, im gonna try all the pll settings.
its an asus motherboard. i stilldont really know much about it

that sometimes happens with creative sound blaster audigy when you send your amd over 200 fsb. (200x2=400)

ok i have same prob but is not ur pll i got my orignal pll i opend my case and got it and my cpu speed now is 1199mhz it was 733mhz and lates bios flash i can push more to 1243 but no sound my fsb is 109mhz and memory clock change didnt know that but i have to buy some sound card because it is keeping me from overlocking it more i think that was idea from hp that if u rise fsb more than they did then sound card will turn of lol just kidding my pll is 9250-10 and i got 1199mhz damn from 733mhz lol and can go higher no lock ups no hangs temp is 45 max all day night gaming
i used wrong pll before and only got 909 mhz max with no sound

ok,i read somwhere that one guy had his sound cutting out too. But, when he overclocked it faster, it finally started working. Had sound. I think i got the right pll but the numbers are real small, and it looks like its fuzzy, smeared, or something. when i set my fsb it actually goes to the speed that cpufsb says it will go to. so i cant figure it out, i can go to 1480mhz now, but no sound
