Hi i have the new Epox 8k3a board with an XP1800+.

I want to be able to get the fsb up over 140 (which is my limit right now) and im obviously having problems.

I have 256Meg PC2100 Crucial RAm so thats not too bad. I add 0.4v to get the agp more stable and that seems happy.

But when upping the fsb to what i should be able to get so the 1/5 (agp/pci) dividers kick in, it just wont post!

Anyone have any ideas what it could be? i have a 300PSU.

And yes i have already upped the voltage to the cpu but still no good, artifacts and strange things happen on boot.

I have memory at 166 with aggressive mem settings also. But i have tried with non-aggressive mem settings but still no good.

I can provide more info if needed.

Thanks

Its most likely your pc2100 ram. try either pc2400 or pc2700 DDR in it.

How will the AGP be more stable?? Where did you add the 0.4V? to the RAM? My computer sometimes lock up when playing 3d games. Same SPECS as yours, but samsung PC2100... I have the latest bios. my memory settings is set to TURBO.

PC2100 ram is 266mhz. So try setting it back to 133mhz and then it should work cose when upping the fsb that 166 is going to rise a hell of alot. Your 8KHA+ can do better cose it can only do 266(133) then go from there! I'm running a non unlocked XP1800 @ FSB 145 @ 133mhz RAM Clock works stable as anything!

@ 166 your going to get into a bit of trouble check this out.

Ratios CPU 133:Mem 166
Overclock to 150fsb
CPU 150 : Mem 187
DDR CPU 150 : Mem 374

getting pritty high i think need to get DDR400 out :) or with 133 ram you would have 300mhz that you can reach with PC2100 or i'd reconment running pc2700 @ 2100 to leave a 33mhz of room.

hope that helps.
