I have a Mirrored Copper heatsink and had basic thermal paste. My temps were 50-54C I just tried vasilene and they went down to 48-53 then I figured why not try none and they went even lower 44-47 so I am stumped should I try silver or keep it with none after each test I cleand it to a reflective shine... My cpu is a 1500+ with 162 fsb 10X mul and a msi k7n2 motherboard..

on 'perfectly' plane surfaces, like your mirrored finish- arctic silver actually claims thermal compound can reduce the thermal transer ability...you can try A.S. but i guess you can consider yourself lucky??
Look at the white papers on arctic silvers web site.
