Comment: Hello, I just built a computer for my cousin, and we'd like to OC it. Right now I've set the CPU Frequency up to 190mhz and the CPU temp is at 39 C. Heres the specs: mobo: PC Chips "M848ALU" SiS746 Chipset Motherboard for AMD Socket A CPU cpu: AMD Athlon XP 2600+ "Barton" ram: Rosewill 184-Pin 256MB DDR PC-3200, Model RW400/256 HD: Maxtor 40GB 7200RPM IDE Hard Drive So, how much more would be a reccommended increase? Right now its running at 2186.3MHZ according to CPU-Z. thanks ::tim

Reply: (edit)just in case u decide to check this site again, i have a very similar pc built. i have a cheap board, but i have the xp2600+ barton. currently, i'm running my fsb at 208mhz. however, i also have a thermaltake volcano 10 cooling system (instead of the stock piece of junk), so my cpu is running around 30 degrees c. i also can't turn my vcore up from my board, so my overclocking is limited. if u can, try to go to 200 fsb, since u have the ram to do it. that should also prove to be more stable than 190, cuz then everything else should run where it's supposed to be (but u can turn those up too). AMD XP 2600 (clocked @ 2.3) Thermaltake Volcano 7 Cooler Chaintech 7NJL3 mobo Samsung pc3200 512mb nvidia GeForce FX-5600 (256mb) (2x)40 & 200gb ATA133 Harddrives 16x DVD ROM 54x3
