Good evening all,

I have a system as follows:

AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual-Core 600+ CPU
Asus Crosshair MoBo
Corsair Dominator 2GB RAM (2 x 1GB)
GeForce 7950GT 512MB Graphics Card
450W PSU
2 x 200GB Seagate SATA Drives
Floppy Drive

I have just got all these brand new parts together (using all neccessary ESD precutions) only to find that I power up, the Fans and HDD spin for about 5 seconds and then the machine switches itself off. No visual, no beeps, nothing appart from the fans. My thoughts is not a powerful enough PSU. Any ideas?

Regards,

Michael.

Pull everything apart & benchtest your board...you should have done that in the 1st place.

Hi Bencho and Jam,

OK, well I took out the MoBo from the case, and placed it on the bench with no add-on cards, no additional wires, and with only one stick of RAM then fired it up - the same thing :( So, I took the CPU out and placed that on the ESD mat out of the way, fired up (with CPU fan still intact) and fine. Pad CPU or still the PSU? I have a 700W PSU due to be delivered next week hoping this will solve the problem! The existing PSU is a EZcool 450W (ATX-450-JSP).
