new PC and some questions

Specs: Windows 7
I'm buying a new PC and the motherboard i have chosen is... Gigabyte GA-M720-US3 the CPU i chose is a AMD Phenom X3 2.1GHz 8450 now am i correct in assuming, that because the motherboard is AM3 compatible, In the future when newer Phenom II come out, I can just remove the X3 and replace it?

To take full advantage of the Phenom II, you'll need a motherboard that supports DDR3 RAM.
