Hi,

I have installed a new motherboard with an atlhon XP 1800+ instead an old PII 233Mhz.
When I powered the system up, My HDDs started but I did have no display. I removed my AGP card and all of my PCI cards, and I had no beeps. Then my Power supply came out of service. Does a unsufficient power supply can make the CPU not do the post BIOS tests (so it doesn't beep)?

did you check you bios settings? is this motherboard jumperless or do you need to set jumpers? does the motherbord has the latest bios software?. most cases if motherboard does n't boot up is a jumpers or bios settings related, also check all cable connections, are they all ok, the right way and well plug in? IDE cables would prevent the machine from booting up if there are connected the wrong way.

good luck

I had the same prob with a machine I built today - in the end the RAM was faulty - so maybe worth a check. As did not get any video out and no beeps.

Or if you want beeps - watch Road Runner ... BEEP ,,, BEEP ....
