Reply: (edit)You're definitely gonna want something with an Nforce 3 chipset. I don't have experience overclocking those CPU's as of yet, so I can't say which particular brand to go with. "...but in my defense, it was dark, I was drunk, and it was delicious!"

Reply: (edit)pheonix991: pci agp lock: PCI/AGP locks keep the clock speeds at their correct settings e.g. 33/66mhz, when these get too high your system may become unstable and cause any RAID arrays or devices to not work correctly or quit all together. firetrap: I don't O/C like I used to, in fact I became a bit of an anti-O/C er at one time, hehhehe, but I did try the set 10% as available in BIOS just to see what happened and had no probs. You can,of course, go to manual and take it as far as it will go. Like the article says it ( In Response 4 ) is very much a " try it and see ". They did take it over the 10% and it seems to be fine for them. The bottom line is, nomatter what m/b, ram, cpu etc. that you get, they all have their limits after which things go wrong. But if you want a good stable board at least you can't go wrong with this one. Mind you, users of other brands will prob say the same and I respect that. " You pays yer money, and yer takes yer choice. " :) AMD64Bit 3800+ Socket 939 WinXP Pro. Nvidia:6800GT Dane Electronic Pro. Dual 1024MB 400MHz RAM Tagan 480Watt PSU: 28Amps on +12volt rail. Reply: (edit)Its A BIOS feature on the nvidia chipset motherboards where you can lock the pci bus and agp bus frequency to 33/66 mhz. You can then raise the front side bus to overclock the cpu and mem without risking data corruption on the optical and hard drives. They tend to have difficuty when you reach the 37/74 mhz level. The Asus is a via chipset and the pci bus speed is a devider of the fsb speed so you can only oc so much before effecting the drives.
