I have an ASUS A7N8X-E motherboard with an AMD 3200 CPU I just installed - or attempting to... No post, monitor will not energize, just yellow LED status light. This motherboard specs says it supports this CPU. I have changed memory, video I/F and no change. Fans come on. Could it be my P/S does not have enough juice? It is 300W. I will try to come up with another Socket A CPU to try.

You can also try reseting the BIOS with the clear BIOS jumper on the board, this is sometimes needed when you install a new CPU

You said that you tried different memory. Are you sure the memory sticks are seated properly? If not, that would also cause the problem of nothing showing up on the monitor.

In fact, without Ram you would still got to
the Bios screen... Make sure you vga
card is installed properly and don't forget
to reset your Bios with the "clear CMOS"
jumper.

As for the power supply, if you'r setup
include's a single hard drive, one optical
drive, a mainstream video card and one
or two case fan it should be ok. Still,
consider upgrading that part.

Check out for a short between case and
mobo and/or cpu. It would give the same
symptoms.

I have cleared CMOS. ASUS emailed me back and said to take the mobo out of the case (eliminate any chance of a short), hook up only the video card, monitor, ps and see if I get video output. I should even get an audio beep or short post w/o CPU so I will give that a try. I had tried AGP and PCI video cards so don't believe that is the problem. I am thinking mobo or processor problem at this point. - Maybe mobo is older rev and does not work with AMD 3200 - I saw one email thread surfing around to that effect.
