Here is the story, I have an AMD Athlon Xp 1600 and i wanted to overclock it, so i bought a new heatsink and a new fan for the cpu. I installed them. when i went to turn my computer on nothing happend, the cdrom would come on and stuff, but the computer would never reach bios. I thought maybee i overflexed the motherboard while taking the old heatsink off to put on the new one. So i bought a new motherboard (to see if i messed up the old motherboard). well, i got it all hooked up and went to turn the power on and the power cuts on for only less than a second. do you think its the proccessor that is dammaged?

Yes. They chip pretty easy.

Take a magnifying glass and a bright light and examine the core. I you see ANY chips, you probably did it when you changed the CPU.

The kind of torque that would make you think you damaged the MOBO taking off the HSF would be enough to do this.
