i bought a used drive. its a western digital 4.1 gb hard drive. in my system i had a maxtor 1.6 gb hard drive. i tried plugging in the new hard drive but the computer wont read it automatically. i went into the bios and configured it manually. it reads. however, when i go into fdisk, it shows wrong disk space (472 mb instead of 4.1 GB). i tried deleting and creating partition but it does not work. can anybody help?

how about trying to see if the bios can autodetect it. Is LBA mode enabled in the BIOS?
