Comment: I have 2 laptops: HP omnibook xe3 with celeron 650mhz and a micron transport gx with a P3 750mhz.I tried switching processors to get more speed out of the HP but it made no difference. both laptops still recognize having the same exact processor and speed, even though i switched them. If anyone has any clue how to help me with this i would be eternally greatful. thank you very much.

Reply: (edit)It is likely that the laptop motherboards are set up to have one speed of CPU at the factory. Laptop's aren't designed to be upgraded. Where are you getting the CPU speeds from? AMD Athlon 2800+ barton @ 12.5 X 176 : 2200mhz 1024Mb DDR400 RAM in sync MSI KT6 Delta mobo Leadtek AGP 6600 gt 128Mb 120Gb Seagate HDD
