Hello There,
My cpu is probarly 'dead'.
I read that overclockers use a kit containing glue, silver laque and tape in order to overclock the cpu.
I think that u should be able to 'repair' the cpu too.
Now, who could provide me with a detailed picture or close-up of a proper functioning AMD1800XP+ cpu with all lines visible like L1, 2, 3 etc.

Why do you think an overclocking kit can fix a blown CPU? If it's busted, it's busted.

There was nothing hostile in my reply. But I've seen him ask that question a number of times yet he continues to ask it despite being told that if the core is blown it can't be fixed. And thank you I'm having a very nice day :)

I agree with RocLobsta the CPU IS dead!
Here are two other times he posted about that stupid CPU.

You should just take an ax and split the thing in half and see what's wrong with it if your so desperate.

Thank you all,
Technicians would not give an reply like some people do on my request for an close-up.
Instead they bother about the amount of requests someboby places on a forum
the overclocking kit costs about $10 - 20 and some time to clean-up and paint.
Getting the same new cpu costs about $100, isn't?
There's the difference.
Thank you macdaddy!
My reply to them is probarly a waste of time, I know, but that is what I wanted them to know.
My apology for my poor English language.

Thank u Derk for the reply,
No need to get hostile, chill..
I said that probarly my cpu is fried, it did not say it is fried, did I?
Now, what would u tell me about the core and the kit?
Are u professional in these things?
Probarly I can learn something from u.
'btw'
After all I found that the mainboard was in bad shape, because today I mounted another cpu and the system did not start.
I tried another psu, memory, reset bios, cpu etc.
But the system did not restart.
It's Asus A7A266, originally ment for 1150Mhz max, I run AMD1800XP+ (1533Mhz)on it.
Due to unavailability of the proper biosupdate it took months before the system could run at that high speed.
This cpu produces more heat, the sink was obviously to hot due to lack of proper cooling.
There were not enough cooling fans on the system.
Next time I put two fans, 1 for the cpu and 1 for the mainboard.
If u think I forgot something, feel free to tell me.

An overclocking kit is for shorting out the briges to onlock the multipilers. This will not fix the cpu unless you have thermal junk shorting everything out on the cpu. If this is the case you don't need a overclocking kit to clean it up. You need something even more cheap then a overclocking kit called Isopropal to clean of the gunk.
