I'm new to overclocking world so pls bear with me.I have asus P4PE-X/TE mobo with 24OO MHZ intel pentium 4E CPU.512mb PC3200 DDR SDRAM (200 mhz),NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX 400 video card,120 gigabytes 7200.7 barracuda seagate hard drive. Now how far can i overclock my cpu with my specification given,i'm doubtful if i mes overclocking will cause damage with the chip.I'm trying to increase the cpu external frequency from 133 to 166 and i notice that the cpu temperature also increase from 56 degress that's before changing the frequency to 60 degress and with the mb temp of 34 degress as is with the cpu fan speed at 4623 rpm.I got an error message with the hardware monitor and found out the vcore voltage value is changing from 1.26v that's blue to 1.24v that's red in color randomly. What does it mean?Is the chip safe with the kind of temp and did i got the right overclocking? Now my cpu is in 3000 mhz as what aida32 tell.
By the way i also found out in aida32 system information that my agp is disabled and this may cause performance penalty, what does is mean and how to enable it.Any suggestions, help and recommendation would greatly appreciated.

Are u changing the frequency from 133 to 166 in your bios?? have you got a heatsink? it seems as though your CPU and motherboard cannot cope with it. you might be better off leaving it to 133.. although another alternative is, the heat is trapped between the motherboard and the cpu.. there is a thermal paste you can get for your cpu, try that, that should release the heat and cool it down a bit.. if not.. then it might be from either excessive power. if you leave it on 24/7 that could be another reason..
yet again, 36degrees isnt that hot.. just try using a heatsink if u havent got one and some thermal paste.. see if that works..

I'd like the performance with the current settings the way the processing act but there is a problem with my sound,it is disabled.Better to go back to the default settings.
By the way i also found out in aida32 system information that my agp is disabled and this may cause performance penalty, what does is mean and how to enable it?It might speed up a little if the agp will be enable but how?pls help.By the way thanks blitzu for the response post i appreciated it.

Get it running properly before beginning to overclock. Your weak link is your video card...upgrade it

LMAO!!!! Yes!
What are you doing! A geforce 2 is bad enough, but an MX?!?! That is terrible!
You definitely need to upgrade that card, to at least a Radeon 9000 PRO or Geforce 5600. Then you will see an awesome change to your system in the 3d and gaming arena at least. As for overclocking. Not sure why you would want to. Overclocking is for people who want to squeeze most out of their systems. When you upgrade your card, you may well be verry happy and not feel the need to risk overclocking a cpu for the first time (it's a nice cpu in the first place!)
