OS: Windows Vista
CPU/Ram: Q6600 quad core/ 2gb memo
Comment:

I've recently bought 2gb RAM but it doesn't work on my computer. Software like CPU-Z and PC Wizard picks it up but it doesn't register with Vista. After running PC wizard I found out that the RAM i bought is single rank while the RAM originally in my PC is double rank. I have an asus berkeley motherboard.
If more information is required just let me know.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's the specs for your board:

You've told us nothing about your RAM. What brand is it & what speed (DDR2-533, DDR2-667, DDR2-800, etc)? According to the link above, your board supports up to 2GB per slot for a max of 8GB. If you have no other RAM installed other than the new 2GB & the system is working, it would appear that there's nothing wrong with it.

Where are you checking the memory amount in Vista? My Computer > Properties? Task Manager > Performance tab?

It's DDR2-667 and I've tried running my computer with the new RAM by itself but it won't boot up.
