Many web sites out there on the subject. I am not taking responsibility for this. :-)

There are 4 different XP 2000+ desktop CPUs...a Palomino, 2 Tbreds, & a Thorton. They all clock the same at 12.5 x 133mhz (1.667ghz), but they run at different voltages.

If your multiplier is locked (& it probably is), all you can do is try raising the FSB. Do it in 5mhz increments & test for stability after each change. Save any vcore adjustments until you have stability issues, then try boosting it 0.025v...if that doesn't help, try another 0.025v

An nForce2 board would probably allow multiplier adjustments, even on a locked 2000+, but I don't think an SiS board will. If you find that your CPU IS unlocked, raise the FSB to 166 & lower the multiplier to 10x, then try overclocking from there. If you have the option to lock the PCI/AGP at their default speeds (33/66), be sure to do it.

It looks to be a decent board, but you should get a Barton CPU & PC3200 RAM to get the most out of it

Asus A7N8X-X
1800+ @8x210mhz
512mb PC3200
Ti4200/8X 128mb
WDC 60GB

thanks guys! jam, i have a couple of questions. what is quickest way to test for stability? so i raise fsb by 5's till it becomes unstable, then raise vcore by .025v til stable and thats it. right?

just wanna make sure i understood it right. so after its stable. what should be a normal temp at full load? thanks again. really appreciate it!

Yes thats correct but just because windows loads fine doesnt mean your stable.
You will need to download prime95 and run the program and if you get any errors, reboot and raise your vcore .25 volt then run the test again.Keep doing this until you get no errors for atleast 8hours.

huh?
