floman,

Just curious, but is it what some use to call a 286? Or was it a 386? I can't remember anymore.

If it's a P1, it's a socket 5 or socket 7 board. If you're just playing with it to see how much you can squeeze out or it, that's one thing...but if you're hoping to make it a signifcantly faster system, you're wasting your time...

Increase the FSB to 66mhz to run the CPU at 100mhz...it's probably at 60mhz FSB now.You can try raising the multiplier to 2.0...that'd put it at 133mhz, but I highly doubt it'll run unless you jack the vcore...no guarantees though

Increasing the RAM to 64mb would give more of a boost than a mere 10mhz clock increase. Don't go higher than 64mb though, or you'll kill the performance

Lol. Have fun. My first pc I messed with was a 386. That was in '98. Then I found out it was not much good, so got a p120. Then played with that, then built myself a AMD 450, new. It's all gotta start somewhere!

Lol.

Yup, 100Mhz is likely tops on all but the best boards of the day. I wouldn't count on making 133.

I run a P75 at 100Mhz daily with some home grown cooling but I think I just lucked out.

My p133, p150 and p166 won't run over 100Mhz on the same board either.

Play with it and have fun...

At a first glance I thought this dude said he had a 1.9Ghz. 190Mhz, LOL. Dude even if you trippled it, your machine still would be slow. And that 32MB is killing you softly.

TECHZAPORT OUT!!!
