Specs: Windows 7
What do I use to remove thermal paste(heatsink paste)? on a playstation 3, and where do I buy it? I just want to make sure I use the right product so I don't damage my item I am working on.

If it's paste, just wipe it off with a paper towel then followup with alcohol or acetone to remove any remaining film. Radio Shack sells "heat sink grease" for about $4, make sure you apply it correctly.

Dave... Not recommended:
1- Note Solved already
2- Too strong, may damage plastic & resin containing components
3- Will leave a film behind that might hinder thermal compound

Simple is better. Stay with a high quality (95% or higher) Isopropel Rubbing Alcohol. When needed, use the edge of an old credit card to help when the compound has hardened.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
