My HP computer won't start up

April 22, 2011 at 04:18:26
Specs: Windows Vista
When I turn the PC on, there are several vertical stripes featuring in the screen but the start up process is normal up until it reaches the screen saying 'windows processing'; where it then starts again and says to launch start up repair. I've launched the repair and checked the diagnosis which said something about a 'bugcheck' - so I rebooted the entire system, but when I turn the PC back on the same thing occurs however this time with start up repair it says that there is a problem starting up. I'm not entirely sure what to do, can anyone help?

You posted in the CPU/Overclock forum but you should have posted in the Vista forum instead. Please repost in the correct forum for people who have experience with Vista and give as much details as you can including make and model number. You can try:
Look up in your manual or online manual for the key for start up options on start up and select "last known good configuration" and see if that works. Do the same but try "Safe Mode with Networking" or "Safe Mode" and if that works use System Restore to an earlier working date. Use your install or recovery disk to launch your start up repair. Report what you have tried on your new post under Vista for more detailed advice.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
