are these speeds normal for stock settings? why is my fsb only 200mhz? and why is my memory only running at 400mhz..

AMD systems don't have a FSB. All their current CPUs run at a frequency of 200MHz. The X2 5600+ has a core speed of 2.8GHz (14 x 200MHz), so your CPU-Z results are correct:

And DDR2-800 RAM is supposed to run at 400MHz, so once again, your CPU-Z results are correct.

In other words, your system is properly configured.

ahh thanks.. it said 800mhz on the website but since its ddr2 does that make 400mhzx2?? kinda stupid here sorry..

one more question..

i was trying to get my system to about a 3ghz and it wasn't working properly.. i tried (12x250mhz) and failed.. any ideas?

Yeah, a few things are going on that need fixing....

1st, by increasing the CPU frequency from 200MHz to 250MHz, you're also increasing the HyperTransport (HTT) bus (also known as Lightning Data Transport or LDT). The HTT bus is product of the CPU freq & HTT multi...it's supposed to run at 1000MHz (200MHz x 5). If you didn't lower the HTT multi to 4x, the HTT bus is now set to run at 1250MHz (5 x 250MHz)...that's NOT gonna happen! Lower the HTT multi to 4x. If there is no HTT multi setting, look for LDT. You may have to lower it from 1000MHz (5x) to 800MHz (4x).

2nd, by increasing the CPU freq, you're also increasing the RAM freq. By setting the CPU at 250MHz, you've exceeded what DDR2-800 RAM is capable of. You're gonna have to manually configure your RAM settings. Right now, it's probably set to AUTO, BY SPD, or 400MHz (DDR800). You're gonna have to change it to 333MHz (DDR667).

3rd, you have to lock the PCI bus at 33MHz & the PCI-express bus at 100MHz or they will overclock right along with the CPU freq.

Do all 3 of the above & you *should* be able to run your CPU at 3.0GHz (12 x 250MHz).

EDIT: you may also have to increase the CPU voltage (vcore) to stabilize the overclock.

My motherboard must suck then because it doesn't have an HTT Option of any kind, or memory speed adjustments (only voltage).. or pci bus speeds.. and i don't see any locks either. pretty fail.

I downloaded your manual & unfortunately, you don't have all the overclocking options available in your BIOS. Have you tried EasyTune 5?

it does have so more features.. but it doesn't have an option to change HT.. what the hell is the point? it is impossible to overclock without changing that.. i simply dont understand what ass made this motherboard.. correct me if im wrong
