Does it first boot into Windows and then reboots, or does it just get to the post screen (the black screen with the messages on it) and then reboot?

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day;
Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime;
Then industry pollutes the water and kills all the fish.

If all is well, you'll usually only get one beep, then it will boot thru to Windows. If you're getting some sort of series of beeps, it's an error code. Was this PC moved from one location to another? Possibly something got shaken loose inside...check that your RAM & video card are fully seated in their slots

it could be the hard drive that is going bad. I had that happen to me once and found out my hard drive was going bad due to a device drive that went bad over time and caused a lot of corruption in the boot sector.

But you need to check the hard drive connector first to make sure the ide cable isn't lose on both ends.

My computer had the same problem, but maybe not the same cause. When I started it up, it was fine the first time. Then after 20 some odd minutes, it shut off. From that point on, I was unable to start the computer up anymore. After awhile, I realized the fan in the back of my computer wasn't going. This was causing the computer to overheat, and it kept restarting over and over. I still a small problem, that my fan only turns on about 1 in every 10 times I turn my computer on, so I usually have to keep turning it on and off until it works.

It has a virus. Check with any antivirus program to find out which one. You will have to start the computer in "safe mode" and then run something like McAfee's "Stinger."
