There is something definitely wrong with my computer. My computer randomly shuts off and then restarts. I have had this problem for a while now and there is no one thing that triggers this sudden occurence. Sometimes i may be typing a paper, or surfing the net or playing a game, it doesnt seem to matter. I have reformatted my computer a few times but that doesnt help. I dont really know more than the average guy about computers so if anyone could help me out i would really appreciate it.

I gotta laugh every time I read that statement...LOL!

OK, now that that's outta my system...you're not giving enough info. My guess would be bad RAM or a weak power supply

i had the same problem when my CPU fan was goind at about 500 RPM instead of 4000 RPM (I just typed up a bit of a story about my 500 RPM fan, it's in the question above this one). On startup press delete or F12 on the startup screen to enter the bios. Then go to Your monitor where it will display temps, voltages and fan speeds. Check your CPU fan speed, if it's under 2500RPM then it's probably your fan, you should br grateful if that's the rpoblem becuase it's a cheap and easy replacement.

I have had this problem as well. My problem had to do with my motherboard. Check your capacitors that are on your motherboard. If they are bulged on the tops they are bad. I don't know if this is your problem or not, just a suggestion. Good luck
