I recently sold 2 amd axda2600dkv4d cpu to 2 buyers 1 has complained that it shows as an xp2000+ Someone told me he needs to change the setting in his mobo as it is just showing his old cpu values, is that so or is there another reason. the other buyer has said nothing. Obviously no problem for him.

All AXP 2000+ CPUs run at 1.67GHz (12.5 x 133MHz) but there are several different versions of the AXP 2600+ & they all run at different speeds. Are you 100% sure the CPU you sold was the AXDA2600DKV4D? That CPU is supposed to run at 1.92GHz (11.5 x 166MHz), so even if the CPU frequency was set incorrectly in the BIOS, it would run at 1.53GHz & be recognized as 1800+.

My guess is you sold an AXDA2600DKV3D which is supposed to run at 2.08GHz (12.5 x 166MHz). Notice that this CPU has the same 12.5x mutiplier as the 2000+, so if the CPU frequency is set at 133MHz instead of 166MHz, it would be recognized as a 2000+.

The problem may be that the frequency is set incorrectly but it's also possible that the buyers motherboard doesn't support CPUs that run at 166MHz (333MHz FSB).
