OS: xp pro
CPU/Ram: p4 2.4C / gig 3200 samsun
Comment:

Here is my setup:

p4 2.4C with 800Mhz FSB at 2.4
stock cooling
maxtor 60 gig 7200rpm HD
1 gig 3200 samsung memory
on board audio
msi 865pe neo2-ls
geforce4 ti4200 128mb

im using the latest detonator drivers (44.03) and closing ALL programs before ruuning.
My score was 1590. This sounds stupid.

Now, during the first test I was averaging 100+ FPS, but something strange happpend after that test: it looked like the video card died, cause I was getting only 3-5 FPS!!!

Is this normal?? thanks

if you were using 3dmark03 and when u say u were getting 3-5 fps i bet it was in the troll test. And yes that is normal i have a 9800 pro and i get about 16 fps.

Your card isn't hardware-DX9 compatible.. But anyways, if you want some more performance, go d/l the ACTUAL latest Detonators - the 44.67's, go to http://download.guru3d.com and get them.

new detonator drivers eh? didnt even know...thnx

I did some looking around and it looks like 3d mark 2003 is a real system killer. So 3-5 FPS with the Troll is normal...:(

I downloaded those drivers and got 10 fps less around in my games, stick with 44.03. and if anyone has ever heard of those omega drivers it's the same sh*t, don't use them. you'll probably have worse performance.

Yeah, I'm in kinda that same boat as you :-(

A7N8X Revision 1.04
2500+ overclocked to a 400 FSB 3200+
512 MB DDR400 ( 1 stick only :-(
Hard Drive, Burner etc.
Geforce4 TI4600

I get like 5 or 6 FPS on the Doom 3 looking test and like 3 or 4 on the Troll test. Damn Direct X 9

I wonder though, if getting only 4-7 FPS on those tests is the supposed idea!

I mean, in 1-2 years everyone here'll be getting 40-60 FPS on those tests, so why not design a test that'll truly strain any system on the market today, in the anticipation of only "warming up" a system of the future...i.e. P5 10 GHz with and ATI 12,000 with a gig of vid ram, pc6800 at 2 Ghz ram.

but regardless, 3-5 FPS makes me feel weak and pathetic. :(

The 3DMark2003 Is designed to test a computers 3d ability for years to come say (2003-2005). Just like 3dmark2001 is designed to test computers made (2001-2003).

Thats the reason why its so heavy.

I just built a computer myself form scratch. I have all of the recent drivers and everything runs fine. I have the P4 2.8Ghz 800fsb 475 512k processor. I have an asus p4c800Deluxe, a gig of corsair twinx low lat ram and the new asus v9950 ultra GeForce FX5900 256 Ultra. I used 3d mark 2001 and got a score of 15000. on 2003 I only got like 6040. what happened? If anyone can help id appreciate it
