I have a MS-6712 MSI MoBo. I am trying to clock my CPU a little higher and the only way I can do it is by an FSB increase.
Vcore and the Multiplier are set to 'auto'. Even when I try to change the mult. to 15 (which is the auto setting). I get a black screen and have to reset CMOS. Why the heck is this? If my multiplier was locked wouldnt it just not give me any option to change it to? I have the option to change it from anywhere from 10-15 and anytime I mess, I have to reset CMOS.
This is driving me nuts!

go to www.major geeks.com. then go to cpu or processor i cant remember which they had listed. then download and run a program cpufsb. i have tryied several programs for doing this to no aval, but i can say this one works atleast for me on a intelboard and a celoron . im getting 30 mhz more after running this

hi,
well..as i know...overclocking can only be in this two ssituation ; ya change tha mult. or tha fsb ..umm..
for ya prob...
i guess ya need to know how to unlock tha mult. for ya processor till it can be adjusted wit ya heart content...
and remember tha risk to do all this things wit ya soldering stuff is too high! i warn ya this ok..and its nope my fault if something bad happend to u...
and pls take some notes...not all mobos can do overclockin stuff...are u sure that ur mobos can do it?? :) good luck!...Lyn1x

if its an msi mobo, why not download fuzzy logic 4, from www.msi.com.tw
its a program that will attempt to overclcok your cpu and board to the max
its actually quite good, my amdxp 2200+ is running at 1917mhz, and opening screen says its a 2400+
