i have a laptop, but has been a while since i last used, now, i can't power on, i tought is the battery, but with the AC, a light is on on the pc, but it doesn't start, what could be the problems thanks in advance

If absolutely nothing happens when you try to turn it on(no fans or sounds) then either the motherboard is dead or the cpu is fried. If the cpu and motherboard are both running properly, then there should be something happening. But since it is old, it could be that something came loose like the power supply. If it doesn't start, open it up and make sure everything is in tight. Also blow away some dust. Get a few more opinions before you do anything as I have little experience with laptops.
