Hi i just upgraded well swopped and paid the difference as my old mobo or chip was bad for a 2800 and a msi via kt4av, i havent had a chance to use it in all its gory as im still installing the m$ updates and its running very slow today, anyway the board only supports 333 fsb but supports ddr400 and in the bios you can change the fsb up to i think about 280, anyway i also bought an aero 7 so im wondering would this chip actually overclock to a 200 mhz fsb if i bought ddr400 ram?? it does support ddr400, also if you know of any issues with this board please let me know thanks!

Well, this board is definitely a downgrade from what you had...why you would swap an ASRock w/SiS748 chipset that officially supports 200mhz/400FSB for a board that has the VIA KT400A & only officially supports 166mhz/333FSB is beyond me. If you really wanna run at 400FSB, you should have gotten a board with the nForce2 400 chipset. I'm not a big fan (no pun intended) of the Aero 7 either...there are plenty of other HSFs out there that work just as well (or better) & are a lot cheaper

To reiterate jam's comment the mainboard does not "officially" support 400FSB, so pushing for a 200Mhz clock is merely wishes.

The rule of thumb for overclocking is getting the right mainboard because it makes all the difference.

if you had the amount of sh*t ive had with that AsRock you would probably prefer running a p75, the asrock is a budget board and a piece of crap, no games would play on it and prime 95 would cut out after 5 mins the ram was fine all along and i knew it was even though i was told over 100+ times it was ram, i did not buy this cpu or board to overclock i noticed in the bios it could go upto and past 400mhz bus and as all barton cpus are essentially the same i wondered if my board was capable of this but i higly doubt i will overclock as the difference will be marginal between a 2800+ and a 3200+ and i will need new ram, i highly doubt my next upgrade will need a 400mhz bus as this will be obsolete by the time i need to upgrade my barton, also the asrocks only overclock options were to change the bus of the cpu and cas latency no voltage changes or ram timings etc or agp settings, so the question still stands is it possible to overclock on this board?

Yes, overclocking that board is possible. Hopefully you don't have a locked CPU. Make sure that you have some sort of thermal compound under the northbridge HSF.

200 FSB is unusual for the KT400 from what I've heard, but not impossible. If you have a multiplier locked CPU, you won't be able to do much though.

Take heart, I'm running an Epox 8K3A+ with the KT333 at 209 FSB. It results in 83 MHz AGP bus, and 41 MHz PCI. Everything works great, and has for many months. I now have a mobile 2500+ running at 2,400 MHz (11.5x209) I'm also running HyperX PC2700 at that speed with 2-2-2-5 settings (2.8 volts).
