Comment:

This card comes with MSI's D.O.T. or Dynamic Overclocking Technology.

First of all, does the use of this program void the warranty?

Secondly, when I try to run the program, a browser window opens and asks whether I would like to allow the ActiveX control to run. If I say yes, I get this message:

MSIVGA.ocx initialization error

It just stops there.

Has anyone else had this problem?

NO!!, the use of MSI's D.O.T does not void the warranty your card, furthermore any damages sustained during its use is also covered.

Regarding your second issue, download the latest driver and place the MSIVGA.ocx from the downloaded package in c:\windows\system32\ and see if that works.

Thanks for the info, Sabertooth. It's great to know that the manufacturer is not out to void my warranty :)

How can I extract just MSIVGA.ocx from the drivers? Usually it's an installer that installs the drivers, without a way of exploring the contents, correct?

Then the easiest way would be to search your hard disk for MSIVGA.ocx, rename it to something else (MSIVGA.xxx) and install the latest driver. You then delete the renamed file later.

I guess that means that MSIVGA.ocx would not be replaced otherwise?

Also, are MSI's drivers a replacement for Nvidia's drivers? I noticed that MSI's drivers are quite a bit larger in size than Nvidia's, so they probably have all kinds of "MSI extras". Whose drivers are better?

Nvidia makes the chipset, so their latest drivers is what I'd go for.
