I currently have an MSI MS-7093 mboard, looking to see which is the final cpu upgrade for this board till I have to build one from the ground up. I know a 4000+ would probably be my only option, but I'm not too sure which 4000+ model will work with my mboard. Advice greatly appriciated.

thats a 939 socket you still have a few more options left other then the 4000+.
you can either go for a X2 core or drop some $$$ and get a FX core. going Dual will prolong the life of your system another 2 maybe 3 yrs.Lost Art of the internet.

Looks like you have a Radeon xpress200 chipset and what are you trying to achieve here? If you want better gaming performance, then why not buy a new video card since it comes with a PCI-E slot instead of buying a 4000+ cpu?

If you are going with dual core, then I suggest you to buy a new machine rather than upgrade from there. I would go with Intel Core 2 duo since its better than Athlon X2...
TMP-Man
Asus P5P800 PAT
P4 506 @ 4009Mhz 1.3v
Thermaltake CLP0024 w/ 1700RPM 92MM + AS5
2GB OCZ 2-3-2-5 DDR400
120GB/300GB 7200RPM HD
Leadtek 7600 AGP 590/1600 VF700 ALCU AS5

Great advice, though I was thinking of buying a new CPU, since it feels like its bogging down my graphics card.
Current Setup:
MS-7093 w/ Athlon64 3000+ Winchester @ 1.6Ghz 1.4v Stock Cooling
1.5GB Corsair/Hyundai DDR
Sapphire x1950GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI-e

GO for the AMD FX-60.
That`s what I`m gonna do with my ms-7093, XFX 7900GT GPU w/zalman cooler, X-FI xtreme gamer soundcard, 1.5gb corsair 3200 DDR.
been tryin to tweak my Athlon 3k+ thats still@1790mhz, but I`ll rather throw in the € for the FX-60.Read a test of it bencmarked with a dozen others, intel and AMD. It was among top 3 in all 8-9 benchmark tests, don`t think we`re gonna get anythin` better on 939 socket b4 a new MTHRboard and DDR2 ram is required. If U find somethin`better, let me know!
