Comment: Hi, I have recently acquired an AT form factor, socket 7 motherboard from a friend of mine. The problem is that I don't have any cables for it (parallel, serial, video etc.). My question is: do i need to get specific cables from the board manufacturer, or are all of these cables the same on all socket 7 motherboards?? I'd appreciate any help. Thanks, Chris

Reply: (edit)I’ve got some Tyan 1590S MOBOs that are kind of quirky. Tyan insists that you only use their cables with them. I’ve only encountered problems with the IDE chain and not being able to find CD-ROMs and CDRWs.
