I'm going to put together a box pretty soon and I'm wondering whether I should run an Athlon XP 1800+ off a 300 watt PS. Don't want to spend too much money. It seems that most people go with a 300 watt. Basically I'm vascillating between 2 cases, an Enlight with a 340 watt PS and a (much nicer looking) Enermax with a 300 watt. Will be running a Geforce 2 GTS 32MB DDR, a CD-RW, 7200rpm HD, not much else.

The 300 watt enermax should be fine. I'm running a xp 1900, 7200 rpm HD, CD-RW, DVD, Geforce 3 ti 200, and several pci cards and fans very well on a 300 watt power supply.
