If you have a 500mb and 2/256mb sticks, the 500 goes into slot one.

It's not the RAM that's holding you back...it's the CPU voltage (vcore). Try it at 1.75v

768MB PC3200
Asus A9550 128MB/128-bit

Oooops....I think I spoke too soon. If that board is based on the VIA KT400 chipset, you're probably not gonna get it to run at 200MHz (400FSB)

1800+ @ 8 x 210MHz

Oooops again, the above answer was meant for someone else with a different board.

Try a vcore increase like I suggested

Your question was:

"I'd like to know if the arrangement of memorysticks can help me solve my problem?"

My answer to you was:

"If you have a 500mb and 2/256mb sticks, the 500 goes into slot one."

Just setting the record straight bunco. lol!

Hi YOYO,

I know this question is about RAM arrangement, but the real question he's asking is how to run his 2400+ CPU at 200MHz (400FSB). He suspects that the RAM is the problem, but since he has PC3200, I kinda doubt it. If you checked his other post, he states that he has an unlocked multi, so my suggestion is to try the CPU at 10 x 200MHz @ 1.75v & see if it'll bootup
