i have an ALBATRON kx400 - 8x motherboard with a "barton" 2500+ and corsair XMS DDR 400 pc-3200 THE MEMORY IS ONLY RUNNING AT 333 like my FSB (333) i tried to change the memory too 400MHz but it wont boot properly if i try to change the "cpu host clock" setting and i cant seem to find the rite setting options in my BIOS so if sumone can help me and let me knoe how to get my ram running at 400 instead of 333 THAT WOULD BE GREAT!! :)

why run your memory faster than the FSB? for optimal performance your memory speed should be synchronus with the FSB....besides, when youre running your CPU at 333FSB, you would have a major bottleneck...why dont you try overclocking that 2500+? if anything an OC will put that extra memory bandwidth to much better use. i have my 2500+ OC'd to 2.4GHz (192FSB x 12.5) on an A7V333-X mobo right now on kingston hyper x PC3000. 192x12.5. also....what is the stepping on your CPU? if you plan to overclock get a better fan and heatsink....i recommend a Thermalright SLK-800u with an 80mm vantec tonado fan. also....try changing the latencies on your memory. for you to attain a good OC you will need a better board. the albatrons arent very good for overclocking....go with an Asus A7N8X, Abit NF7-S, or Epox 8RDA+. give it a whack...besides...OCing is pretty darn fun.

thats what i dont understand why the hell we have DDR 400 on AMD motherboards.... if they dont even have the 400MHz FSB processors out yet? oh well i bought DDR 400 just so it can run at 333 rite now i guess...... i overclocked the CPU too about 2GHz rite now i need a better heatsink and fan before i go higher its already at 43 celcius about 107 degrees >:[ ill get a good one no worries ...also did u have to raise ure voltage? or was it fine all the way up too 2.4GHz?

43° celcius isn't really all that high.

43 degrees C is smoking hot for an idle temp, bring that temp down!!! im at 31C idle and 40C load. the cooler the processor, the better it performs. think of when you start your car in the morning and then how it runs after driving it 10 or 15 minutes, same idea with the processor. my Vcore is 1.775V on my CPU. another thing youll want to do when you get your new heatsink....lap that bad boy, bust out the sand paper and put some elbow grease into that copper base! when you sand out all those grooves in your heatsink you make more of the CPU die contact more area on the heatsink, youll drop your temps 1-3C, which is very respectable. if you want a good heatsink, get a thermalright slk-800u or slk-900, and an 84cfm vantec tornado.
Summary: O i know that but what i am trying to ask is that if i keep it running at 400mhz and my computer processer is only a 333MHZ FSB then will running the memory faster then the 333 hurt? I am sorry that i...
Summary: Could it be my memory modules are not Registered/Buffered and not does not have ECC/Parity? Could this the problem that's preventing from running at 133? ...
Summary: OK i have the M7VIG 400 mobo, with sempron 2200+ 333mhz and ddr pc3200 hynix ram. my cpu is factory 1.5ghz and it is oc'd to 1.8 for now, 200fsb 400 bus speed, and my ram runs at 200. it was 166 at f...
