Im out to buy some new high performance DDR memory from my winchester 3000+/ga-k8ns ultra 939 mobo. Im not sure what kinda i should get in order to do good/stable overclocks. I was thinking about some kingston hyperX pc 3200 with 2-2-2-5 timings or identical ones with 2-3-2-6 timings. I have also looked at some OCZ OPTIMIZED PC3200 that runs clocks of 2-3-2-6 or the platinum series that run clocks of 2-3-2-5. Not really sure what to do.
Is it worth buying the the memory with a lower latency even though it will prolly have to be loosened up a little when i over clock the cpu and RAM. Any suggestions or has anyone had any experiance with these types of memory. Thanks

Ram with low latency has the advantate that it should run at higher speed with a raised latency so you my get a higher ram speed out of them.

Not all HyperX ram can run at the speeds you expect. If you happen to stuble upon hyperx memory with Winbond BH-5 Memory chips then youre very lucky. I have seen BH5 chips used on kingston value ram NOW THATS A BARGAIN! The problem is that the manufacturers stopped using these a while ago and began using CH-5 chips which are not as stable. If you get the BH-5 chips which can be found on some HyperX memory, especially look for ones which have 2.5v marked on the sticker or have .A01 or .A02 after the model #. These can do up to 260fsb! at the right voltage. they can do 230 at a mere 2.9 volts with no modding.
BH-5 chips are your best choice but are hard to find, your best bet is ebay for these. If you decide to go for faster ram and looser timings id recommend some ocz PC3500 or PC3700.

I went with the kingston hyperX with 2-2-2-5 timings. It runs great at stock speeds. I have been tryin to overclock it, but i havent been to successful. I push the voltage up to 2.8(all my mobo allows) and then put my htt at about 220, but it doesnt run to stable here. I tried a divider(166), which does help and allows for a htt to about 260, but it does not allow a high memory bandwidth, which is what i was shooting for. I'd rather run a much lower htt and higher memory bandwidth and not use a divider; think this is possible with what i have? maybe around a 240 htt? thanks for the input
