Comment:
Hi! Anybody know if there are anyway to make the CPU show a fake clock? Example, if i am using AthlonXP 1800+, I want to make it show as 2200+ or any other. I heard that there is a way to do it, but i dont know the way.
Thanks.

If you have an unlocked 1800+, you can change your default multiplier to 13.5 in the BIOS, windows will show you have an Athlon XP 2200+ (1.8GHz).
Note of warning: I doubt your 1800+ will do (133X13.5)
I agree; computing.net does need an edit button.

i already said i want it to show a 'fake' clock rate, not a real clock rate that i can overclock it. it means that the clock rate stay, but the bios or windows see it as other clock rate.

You wan't to smoke everyone into thinking you made a 2200+ out of a 1800+ without being able to actually do it? If so, you'll get no help here.
If you actually want to do it...post back with detailed system specs.

I understand what you want to do, my question was why...
Now my new question is "why won't you answer the first question"? lol

well, it is very easy actually. just some thing like tweaking windows' "sumthin". and voila! your AMD athlon XP 1800+ is now Pentium 4 EE 3.7Ghz!
but i think you just want to show off to your friend eh? LOL...
