Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew where I can find a case where the m/b attached to a draw. I have one now but it sucks when it comes to ventilation.

Not sure what you mean when you say attached to a draw.

There are cases with fans on the side panel which can do a good job of cooling the motherboard.

Sorry, I guess I didn't make myself clear. The case I have now has a drawer that I can pull out. Attached to the drawer is my m/b. All I have to do is disconnect the cables. The only problem with my case is that there's almost no ventilation. I have a spot for a fan in the front but not in the back, and the front is covered up by the fase of the case. After looking around I think I may go with the thermaltake xaser II 5000. It's a sharp looking case with a bunch of great features. The only problem (other than the price) is it doesn't have the drawer. Oh, well.

Okay got it. That drawer is called a motherboard tray and there are lots of such cases out there. Here are two:

http://www.noblepcs.com/product.asp?0=208&1=209&3=751

http://www.allstarshop.com/shop/product.asp?dept_id=282&pid=3469&ad=pwatch

and a yahoo shopping search on "motherboard tray" within computers..

http://search.shopping.yahoo.com/search/all?p=motherboard+tray&Y=0&mid=&did=57&pf=50&pt=200&X=2&r=&f=14489115&q=&rkeys=&is=&clink=&__yltc=s:14489115,d:14489115,w:sbp-lh,x:2,k:motherboard+tray,did:57,pf:50,pt:200

you can also go to pricewatch.com under cases and do a search on tray. I can't find a review of trayed cases anywhere. Someone should do one because once you've got one you never go back and trayed cases should come in all prices but right now they are priced as a luxury.

You might consider cutting a hole or two in your case to increase the ventilation. You need either a dremel or a hand jigsaw+metal blade. Took me about 3 minutes to add a fan hole to mine with a jigsaw. You can might exhaust to the back. For intake you can put a hole in the bottom or just drill a few holes in your panel plastic to help the intake you already have.

Kudos to you! You're absolutely right! It's soo much easier working/building a pc with one. I used to build pc's back in '98. That's where I got mine. You'd think by now all cases would have them. Oh, well. Anyway thanks a lot for letting me know what the drawer is called, and the sites that have them.

just checked out the cases. Not bad, but I wish there was one that was slick with a window on the side. Too bad that there's not much of a selection. I wonder why there hasn't been a company that's caught on. I can't belive it's only about money... well than again...

P.S.- The one at noblepcs.com was available with the window but my cd-rom, cd-rw, zip, and floppy are white. Which wouldn't look too good with a blue front. :( Maybe if it had a door hiding them it would work. Alas, sometimes it's hard looking good and being good at the same time.

ok..come on you guys...I have a cheap case with the label "power up" on it and it has the tray in it... I think I paid 40 for it over a year ago...I also bought my father a case made by Power Magic and I believe that it had the tray in it.. I got it for 25 with shipping at www.pricewatch.com..with a 350 or 400 watt psu in it...

they are cheap....the cases descriptions just don't tell you that they include the tray..

... that's good info golden but I think you are the exception. Trayed cases are priced at the high end and if power magic is including a mb tray and not putting it in their description, that doesn't mean others are doing it too. If you are able to post a couple links of decent priced (say under $60) cases with mb trays, I will humbly and happily acknowledge my error. A search on case tray on pricewatch or yahoo shows a ton of options in the $100+ range.

The manufacturer website would certainly say if the case has a removeable try or not. Powermagic.com is down right now so I can't check on them...
