My friend who lives in wasinton, claims he is pushing his P4 660 3.6ghz into the 7ghz-7.6ghz range and running completly stable. I can only talk to him by phone as he does not have internet access where he lives, so its hard to confirm this with out any screenshots. Anyway, he says he is using a custom modded compressor rigged up on it to where his temps never reach above 10degress celsus, he claims the only thing that is holding him back is the lack of voltage its reciveing, cause he cant not increase it further, (He is working on a way to do a volt mod on it though). So is this a new wrold record?
Dont worry about your skills in Overclocking, cause I can assure you mine are better!

Until he can provide some form of proof, I wouldn't believe it.

LOL....well ill have to say i dont belive him unless he can prove, which he probley can't u mate is a fake.they havnt even made up to 4ghz proccessor never mind 7ghz and if its a 7ghz hes gonna need some cooling.

i just got done speaking with him, he says he has no ploblem sending me actual pictures of the monitor, and a CD he burned containing a video of his rig with the compressor, also some screenshots of system properties, dxdiag.exe, and Cpu-z all of which should varify his "alleged" operating frequency. I will tell him to include some benchmarks aswell...;-p

It's perfectly possible to do what he claims he has done, but you would need very efficient cooling/heat transfer methods, which would therefore make it very expensive. I guess one method you could use would be a gas coolant, they use this method in nuclear power stations, mainly using carbon dioxide(CO2) as it does not become radioactive.

If he has a phone, he could get into the Internet.
If he has the knowledge to use a compressor to cool the CPU <10°C, he knows where to claim his record.
If he does't have any mean whatsoever, he must have friends or talk to people close to where he lives.
For now, you could simply post the rig with some detail.
1) motherboard
2) CPU current voltage
3) memory brand and speed, etc, etc.
4) FSB & Multi
5) BIOS version
6) Power supply brand and model
7) Detail on "compressor" and "CPU mounting"
8) Video card
9) O/S
10) HDWe can't believe everything we hear, else we all can walk on water.

Hey, I just walked on water the other day...then my wife yelled at me & I had to clean it up...LOL!

I would love to see some proof and i am sure so would the rest of the world. How about posted all that, plus proof at the extreme overclockers i am sure they would love to see it also. We can all make claims about how great we do, but proof is something else.Plus what about your skills at overclocking ''Dont worry about your skills in Overclocking, cause I can assure you mine are better!''

Being gullible isn't a reason to believe him, either.
