Ok, I know I already posted this thread about this... http://www.computing.net/cpus/wwwbo...
This is just a follow up.Ok, so I have been using this Laptop for a couple weeks now, I got a cooling pad for it n stuff, i've done pretty much everything I can think of to keep it cool but nothing seems to be working. I play "World of Warcraft" a lot and when I play it stays at a steady 70C the entire time I play, but the mobo stays around 40C so i'm not worried about that. I'm just wondering how long its going to run like that before it frys. I can't use my Desktop computer to play cause at the moment it only has an onboard gfx card and it can't handle it good enough.

Laptops get hot, really hot, even my core duo based MacBook can be quite uncomfortable to handle in cetain spots if its been doing anything CPU intensive for a while. Try running CPU-z, that will tell us exactly what sort of P4 you have. If we know that, we will know whether or not your CPU is actually overheating.

Laptops are not a good choice for gaming, but you've gotta expect the CPU temp is gonna climb pretty high under load, especially considering you have a P4...not to mention the generally poor cooling characteristics of most laptops.
Get a video card for your desktop machine. BTW, why are you running DR2-667 instead of DDR2-800??

yeah laptops run hot but as long as they dont go above 90 your ok. it will reduce the life of the laptop though running hot. but your going to knock off about 2-3 years from the life of it but dont worry it should be good for another 10 years at that temp by which time it will be so obsolete you wont care.

Thank you, this information helps a lot, i'm just not going to worry about it anymore. If its still going to last me a long time I don't care, it was free anyway lol. The only reason i'm running DDR2 667 is cause I just built my PC with some cheaper stuff for now cause I was running a P4 1.6GHz, 1GB DDR, 128MB GeForce FX5200, it was way to outdated, couldn't stand it anymore. I'm upgrading my Mobo to a ATI Crossfire board and i'm gonna up my RAM to DDR2 800 Dual Channel cause i'm only using Single at the moment.

What's the point of getting a Crossfire board? Stick with what you have, add a decent gaming card & 2GB DDR2-800. Dual channel is nice if the board supports it, but the performance gain isn't near as much as what you may think. Besides, the ASUS M2V-MX SE does have "Dual Channel Architecture". All you need to do is install 2 sticks of RAM!

And you can get 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDDR2-800 for about $30 after rebate:

BTW, Crossfire (& SLi) are a HUGE waste of money.

I just wasn't sure if the board I have is really good enough to keep for a while but I guess so, so i'll stick with it and add the GFX card and RAM. I knew SLi wasn't very good, a buddy of mine just spent $2300 on a new PC with SLi (Dual 640MB GFX Cards) but his games run better without SLi running and only using one of the GFX cards. I thought Crossfire was much better but I guess its not really worth it.
Thanks a lot for everyones help, it is greatly appreciated.
