Comment:

i have an old 1998 compaq presario motherboard that i thought was shot, turns out, only the stick of memory i had was bad, since i thought the processor was bad i threw it out. i recently bought a new one off of ebay to replace it and i need to make sure the overclock jumper settings are correct.

That thing came with a Cyrix MII-300 processor? What did you buy?

We need enough information to answer your question.

For example, the Cyrix runs at 75Mhz fsb and an Intel would be overclocked at that speed (66Mhz fsb would be the default for an Intel).

If you were a real geek_, you'd tell us what we're workin' on. :)
