I have a newly built AMD XP1900 computer using ThermalTake Vocano 7 fan and an aluminum case with one case fan and one side fan. It's running at 63C at the moment, the Ti4200 is at 60C. Is this too hot ? If so, what are the possible problems/solutions ? Thanks in advance.

that is extremly hot! umm use more fans or maybe u should go with water cooloing or liquid nitrogen cooling that would work!!1

If it's not overclocked, you shouldn't have to do anything extreme like the guy above says. You probably aren't getting adequete air flow, because I know the CPU HSF is good, and GFX cards are made to not overheat under normal and light overclocking conditions. Is the side fan blowing in or out? Try disabling it. The rear case fan should blow out. Consider moving the side fan to the front of the case and make it is blowing air into the case. Also, make sure the power supply is blowing out, not in. What is the system temp?

I like how the number 1 is now a viable substitute for an exclamation point. See above message.

It’s hot but not too hot if things are running OK.

Using thermal paste instead of the thermal material that come with the Volcano 7 would make a big difference but don’t chip the CPU core taking the Volcano off.

Thanks for the suggestions, more details:

"Is the side fan blowing in or out?"
---Out

"Try disabling it."
---If it's blowing out?

"The rear case fan should blow out."
---Yes it is.

"Consider moving the side fan to the front of the case and make it is blowing air into the case."
---The side fan is not quite movable. How about just adding another front-intake fan?

"Also, make sure the power supply is blowing out, not in."
---Yes it's blowing out. It's a bit werid to me that it has a fan connector to motherboard fan head. I plugged that in just in case it's for the fan.

"What is the system temp?"
---Around 40C

"I like how the number 1 is now a viable substitute for an exclamation point. See above message."
---I agree !!111

"Using thermal paste instead of the thermal material that come with the Volcano 7 would make a big difference but don’t chip the CPU core taking the Volcano off."
---Chip the core off? It sounds scary. What should I be aware of in order to avoid that?

OK, I like how you made everything easy to work with, maybe I should try doing that. Let's give it a go.

Side fan blowing out, still try disabling it. Or maybe try getting it to blow in. It might be pulling air out of the comp before it has a chance to get to the processor.

If possible, go for another front intake fan. It can't hurt. Or at least, shouldn't hurt.

System temp is kind of high, mine's 32°C. You should be able to lower it along with CPU temp.

The number 1 is a good exclamation point substitute. Especially in sentences like "I am so smrat!!!!!!!!!111111111 (Yes I know I spelled smart wrong)

Chipping the CPU, probably won't happen, although I really have no precautions, just don't rip of the fan and then take a knife to your die or anything.

Ughhhhhh, thermatake really Bummed out on their Vulcano 7 HSK+Fan combo... Not to mention that rediculous Heat sensor they included (might I add that the heat sensor is Placed on the Plastic Fan,, HOw the heck is the Sensor supposed to get an accurate reading of the CPU when its on the Darn Fan.. the Sensor initailly has 2 settings, one that will Run the fan at like 2500 RPm and the other at about 5800 RPM, not quite sure on the Exact Numbers there, anyways, I have read many detailed descriptions and it is almost impossoble to activate the Sensor to Propell the Fan to 5800 RPM becasue of the fact that the Sensor is on the Fan,, your CPU might be runnin @ 100 C while the Sensor Lazily sits on the Cold Fan Playing with its fingers not knowing that anything is wrong,, U should try reading some Articles on removing the Sensor and Placing it Closer to CPU, like at the Bottom of HSK. BTW, the Vulcano 6 CU+ is Awsome, Runs @ 7200 RPM constant(no sensor),, Kinda noisy tho,

hope this helps..

Just out of curiosity, have you noticed that many of the posts you respond to are like three or more days since the last response and most people have gotten the point about how much you hate the Volcano 7?

I disagree with “Some Person”.

Unless Motherboard Monitor is wrong, my Volcano 7 fan speed seems to be very responsive to CPU temperature. I think that their engineering concept is quite sound.
