it is a decent board, but there are better boards out now, try looking for one that has a KT333 chipset

I use my computer for fixing pictures,I burn music cd's,And make movie cd's.Plus look over the net.My boyfriend plays a few games. He's not selling it to me he wants to buy it and put it in the computer that I have.Which has a 450 processor in it.He wants to get this motherboard with a p3 1 gigahertz processor. He told me that it would all cost about $250.He said it would be cheaper than buying a new computer.

$250 sound like a good price from what I've found, and the board tests results are average. That leads me to my next question what other components are being put on this MOBO? Power supply, cdrom, cdrw, hard drive ect...

I have 2 hard drives both are 7200 rpm drives, right now I am using a promise card with the hard drives but he said that with this new motherboard I wont need that any more.I have a Hp cdr drive and a regular cdrom drive a ,zip drive. My video card is an older one I think its a tnt card I have a sound blaster 5.1 sound card with a liv drive I have 384 megs of sdram Im not for sure but I think my power supply in 250 watts.I also have a ISA Us Robotics veverything modem.I am using windows Xp.If he gets the motherboard I want to use everything that I have now.He also told me that if I want to use everything that I have now including the ram, it will limit his choices on the motherboard is this true?

Yes the RAM you are using SDRAM will limit the choices because DDR SDRAM and RDRAM are the current and faster types of ram. If you don't want to spend more than 250 dollars I'd say go for it, because you could always upgrade to DDR RAM with that MOBO because it accepts both DDR SDRAM & Regular SDRAM. If you are looking further into the future I'd say scrap that idea and go with a AMD MOBO with DDR RAM and your other components (cost about $300). And I'm not positive but I'd suggest at least a 350 Watt power supply (cost about $50).

Its a bad idea to buy that board because the chipset is slow and not worth the money.
I recommend a kt333 motherboard. Asus a7v333 raid is what I have and I think its the best of all the boards out there. It has insane overclocking options and overclocks upto 200fsb or over. It is very stable. Asus is #1 manufacturer in the world.

And yet they can't make decent mainboard fans. Sh-t on ASUS.
