I have a non-pro Radeon 9500 with 128 MB of memory. The softmod didn't work so I overclocked it. The processor is at 397, while the RAM is at 303. Are these safe temperatures? Any answers or help would be appreciated.

Those are not temperatures. They are the frequency of the chipset core and memory.

More is usually better until you turn the card into a 150 dollar bookmark.

If you do not understand what you're doing, get back into your overclocking program and look for a button to reset everything to default settings.

I'm sorry, I meant MHz. Anyway, I'm just wondering IF there are any users out there, who have actually overclocked this card. If they have, I would like to hear from them. The system appears stable and everything works fine, but I just want to make sure. I used a program call ATI Tool to do it, which tests for artifacts and other errors. It clocked up to that high. As I said, I'm just interested in people who have experience with this card.

Thousands have done this. I don't have any idea how many have on this board.

It's hard to say what is safe. Everyone monitors cpu temps and hardly anyone monitors gpu temps. The normal gpu overclocker pushes the card to it's limits and post back here when it dies an early death.

Some manufacturers will put no fan, a cheap fan or a good fan on the same card. Naturally, they will all give a different amount of max performance and longevity.

I'd just make sure I had good case ventilation and good system temps and see how far the card will go without artifacting.

Then, I'd back off at least 10%. Common sense goes a long way when you really don't know what you're doing.

Good video and good gameplay are more important than good benchmark numbers. Cooked gpu's don't help the effort much either.

Thanks a lot for your help. SkipCox! I'm going to set a few of those numbers back right now!
