OS: Windows xp Home SP1 Ver.2
CPU/Ram: XP2500+ Barton - - 2x512m
Comment:

I have the xp2500+ Barton & I have successfully managed to overclock it to xp3200+ running at 2.21GHz.
I’m running this on the following; [MB]- Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe, [GRAPHICS]- GeForce4 MX 440, [RAM]- 2x512mb PC3200 DDR400, [PSU]- Silent Solution Kit by FSP Group- the 350w version (Which comes with a 1200mm fan on PSU, 900mm chassis fan & 70mm fan on top of the aluminium heatsink with copper base).
All I did to achieve this was to adjust the external freq. to 200MHz from factory default 166MHz. I have left the rest of the settings to auto adjust, leaving the multiple at 11.0x, and the board to run optimal settings!
Everything else is default.
My idle temp for the MB is around 20oC & the CPU around 45oC. Working temps for these settings have surprised me, full load (I think?) running Flight Sim 2002 the temps don’t even raise more than 4 or 5 oC. CPU I’ve seen only went up to 49oC and the MB up to 25oC.
However, today 08/06/04 temp in house was about 28-29 oC my board is idle at 27oC and chip at 51oC. Worried me slightly but i've turned the PSU fan speed up to max & the temps have come down to idle at about MB 25oC CPU 49oC! It seems quite happy running at these temps but I’m not to sure?!
Above all the machine is very smooth running i.e. it hasn’t crashed or froze on me yet! (Touch wood!) & super quiet compared to my old Advent 3052.

Those temps are ok considering the ambient temperature in my opinion.

You could do with a new graphics card tho imo

I think that the MX440 is holding you back
