Specs: Windows XP, Dell dimension 3000
On Sunday while using the computer the screen went black. Its not a power outage.
I then realised the the two lights which are usually on the cpu were not there. Only the one indicating power was on. The other kept blinking on and off, sometimes it is quite pale. What caused this and what is the possible solution.

Help I need help fast, I study online. Thanks in advance for your held.

A cpu doesn't have any lights-you mean the front of your computer tower. There could be somthing wrong with your HDD, but first I would disconnect the HDD and see if you can boot into the bios w/o geting a blank screen. If you still get a blank screen, then it's not your HDD. .

Before removing the hard drive start the system and enter BIOS to check if the hdd is recognized.

If you want a fast answer, try posting in the Hardware or XP forum. Unless you've overclocked the system or made some sort of change to the processor (aka CPU), you're asking in the wrong forum.
