Reply: (edit)I prefer the ECS k7sem ver B. It has onboard video and sound. I've benchmarked the video against a Geforce 2MX and it beat it by 20%. It also can hardware decode DVDs

Reply: (edit)The ECS K7SEM ver B is a much better board than the msi-6378. It does have an AGP x4 slot in the event you want to run with a real video card. It is a great budget motherboard. It has an SiS 730 chipset( which is close to the SiS735 chipset on the k7s5a). Up to 64 Megs of RAM can be dedicated to the video. It does surprisingly well in games and DVDs. I used this board on 10 computer I had and the buyers are very satisfyed. Please consider the ECS K7SEM ver.B . I guarrenty you will also like it.

Reply: (edit)why not go for a better board all together like an abit or asus with NEITHER OB video/audio? you'll come out better in the long run as you are going to end up wanting to upgrade sound and video at some point.

Reply: (edit)Stay clear of the OB sound and video. I tried to install a sound card on a computer that used OB sound and it took me two days to get it to work...Integrated is not the way to go...

Reply: (edit)get it, MSI makes excellent boards and the video and sound quality are fine. I mean WTF?? you can always throw a soundcard or a smoking video card in there later..?? RIGHT? I have a MSI K7 Master and MSI makes very stable boards. Many servers run MSI motherboards. I personally dont like onboard sound but onboard video is cool if your graphics card ever bites the dust you have a backup. Just dont expect to play the latest and greatest games in high res mode. Reply: (edit)I have an MS-6378 running Morgan (Blue) Duron 1GHz overclocked to 266Mhz FSB and 1333Mhz Clock speed (Locked 10Xmultiplier, PC133SDRAM- Generic)- stable with everything else stock - standard Generic CPU cooler. With some mods I hope it could hold 1.4Ghz.... Downside - the onboard Trident Blade card is 4xAGP - but is not switchable - and there is no AGP slot. Youll have to upgrade to a pci display card - Otherwise - its fantastic - I am still looking for a way to change the CPU multiplier - as the bios has no option to change this, but I am pushing my luck here - as it runs perfectly stable at 266FSB and 1333Mhz CPU speed - .....No DDR slot either - .....but for the price its excellent..Decent with 3d games - 800x600, 16bit color - ..see if you can try one B4 you buy.

Reply: (edit)Got a MS-6378 and the onboard sound doesn't work without distortion. Even when using a $700 Delta 44 Midiaudio card! Anyone know how to fix this problem?, or heard of it happening before?
